What is Collaborative Law?

Separating or divorcing is never easy. But when couples and their lawyers take a less adversarial approach, the entire family benefits.

Too often divorce becomes a declaration of war. When this happens there is a loss of self esteem, dignity and well being suffered by the divorcing parties. When children are involved they may feel the hurt the deepest and the longest.

Divorce

Collaborative Practice is a process for resolving legal disputes that emphasizes making an agreement not to go to court as well as full disclosure of information. The resolutions for divorce take into account the parties' highest priorities.

In Collaborative Practice, the parties and their lawyers pledge in writing to resolve issues without going to court. Collaborative practice can involve other collaborative experts such as divorce coaches, child and family specialists, accountants and financial experts.

Our goal is to obtain a fair and equitable result for our clients without costly litigation.
